Hi, I am David Palmer and welcome to my website. I'm a singer and singing teacher based in the Northwest of England. I teach in five locations: Broadgreen in Liverpool, Crosby in Liverpool, Davyhulme in Manchester, Heswall on the Wirral and Hawarden in North Wales.
I teach a method that can help all kinds of singers -pop, jazz, blues and music theatre and classical. This method has enabled me to sing professionally for very nearly 50 years since I first appeared on Radio Merseyside when I was 16.
I have been taught by some of the most famous teachers in the world and their methods are needed now more than ever as we face an epidemic of singers losing their voices or having major vocal problems.
My students include established classical soloists who perform at prestigious venues such as the Royal Philharmonic Hall Liverpool, members of the Halle Choir in Manchester, The National Youth Choir, and contestants on X-Factor and recording artists.
If you love singing I can help you improve your range and power and increasingly I am helping singers who are in bands or do solo gigs.
Does this sound familiar to you? After an evening's singing you are hoarse and maybe can't sing for a few days?
I can stop you from hurting your voice and from getting hoarse after a show or a long choral rehearsal.
Lessons are an hour (£35) or half an hour (£20). In an hour lesson I concentrate on technique for half the lesson and then we put that into practice with a song. In a half-hour session I just concentrate on technique.
Vocal technique involves using the body to "support" the voice. The body has to be strong to achieve this and so I think 13 is a good starting age for girls and 15 for boys as long as their voice has fully broken.
That is the lower limit but as for the upper limit ; my oldest pupil is 80! And I am thrilled by the way her voice is now working.
No matter what age you are you can improve tone, range and power and really enjoy singing.
It doesn't matter what your ambitions are;
Pop and Rock gigs
(Or if you would just like to improve your Karaoke performance)
